Unwrapped …

Unwrapped (edit) …

As a shining bauble on his arm

to complement elegance

and charm,

with grace, some sparkle, and beauty,

words in play

and avarice

his hedonistic duty,

enticements of this earth

but scant the ways of heaven,

I set aside those words,

that world,

and attached myself instead

to what is beyond and what is within

and what can be trusted,

to Begin

a simple life…

True. It’s how I am happiest, as long as generous dollops of Arts and Music are included!
Hope all is well and happy with you, Lynne. Are you in New Orleans now??

  3. Absolutely gorgeous image…with all the lovely textures and wetness, Lily! Same goes for your work of precisely chosen words…telling the story of a comeback from defeat, and moving to a wonderfully complete victory!

You have truly outdone yourself with this amazing post!

I can only imagine/hope that the courage to write this and so beautifully to means you are (finally) free dear Lily. Time and distance. This feels like a leap…of faith perhaps. x

When things are finally left behind, I seem to feel freer to write about them. Time and distance, as you say, with your usual wisdom.
All my leaps should be leaps of faith… so that I’ll have a little help in landing in the right spot, eventually : )
